John Wainwright and Co Ltd produce a wide range of materials that can be categorised under three primary headings - Roadstone, Surface Dressing Chippings and Coated materials. All material types follow a complex production route prior to despatch to the customer - none more so than our high quality range of Asphalts.

2006 heralded a new era in asphalt production at the Company with the opening of a new asphalt plant. An investment of £4.5m facilitated the building of a state of the art Benninghoven asphalt plant capable of mixing and loading 240 tonnes per hour of bituminous coated products across the full spectrum of the modern day asphalt range and the added flexibility of 360t multi product hot storage.

This modern manufacturing facility incorporates the latest in responsible production techniques and was specified and built with both its local and surrounding environment very much in mind.

Primarily concerned with providing Surface Course materials in road construction and maintenance that utilise the full potential of the premium Pyroxene Andesite aggregate that is unique to Wainwright in this part of the world, it also offers production capability of structural pavement courses for inclusion in many aspects of our built environment. We have the added capability of specialist material production including coloured or pigmented resin coated macadams which allow the customer or specifier to have the material in a full palette of colours.

The Wainwright coated stone production facility manufactures its products within a strictly controlled and monitored quality management regime and its compliance history is one of consistently achieving the highest standard when viewed in national benchmark terms. John Wainwright and Co was one of the industry pioneers in gaining National Sector Scheme 14 for Asphalt Production and this has been taken forward into the Benninghovens's operation.
