ABOUT ASPHALT
HIGH-QUALITY ASPHALT
With two cutting-edge asphalt plants in the South West – one at Moons Hill in Somerset and the other at Avonmouth, near Bristol – we have a broad geographical reach. Our plants use the latest technology to reduce energy consumption and manufacture asphalt of the highest quality, making effective use of recycled materials to minimise our environmental impact.
OUR PLANTS
OUR ASPHALT PLANTS
Moons Hill Asphalt is a Benninghoven plant configured to use Recycled Asphalt Products (RAP) and running on a high proportion of renewable energy. As a result, our asphalt products are produced sustainably for use in essential infrastructure.
Avonmouth Asphalt is a KVM plant situated near the M5. It uses renewable energy and heat exchange technology, and is set up to make use of Recycled Asphalt Products (RAP). Opened in 2016, it gives us greater reach to the south, west, north and east of the Bristol area.
PRODUCTS
VIAFIX
As well as manufacturing asphalt, Wainwright produces Viafix, an extreme performance, first time fix, ready to use, all-weather pothole and reinstatement repair material. This bagged material is suitable for use by lone operatives and hardens through contact with moisture. It is favoured by utilities companies, including Openreach, as it permanently reinstates utility works on all classes of carriageways.
Viafix is marketed and sold by its UK distributor, Viatec.
